The Challenging Side of Leadership
4/9, 4/16, 4/23
Leading everyday can be tough but leading can become especially difficult during challenging times. In recent years, we have faced many challenges in our organizations and in our system. We know that there may be more challenges to come and as leaders, we will have to help our teams and organizations overcome. In this engaging and interactive training, attendees will learn about skills, strategies, tools, and stories about leading through everyday challenges, leading and communicating in crisis, and leading with resilience and hope. If you are interested in learning more about leading in challenging times and in learning the tools and strategies to help you do it, this Series session is for you!
The Human Side of Leadership
5/8, 5/15, 5/22
One of the most challenging and rewarding parts of work is that we, imperfect humans, have to work with other imperfect humans. Researchers and experts consistently agree that many workplace challenges - engagement, productivity, work quality - can be improved by building and fostering solid relationships among coworkers. During the Human Side of Leadership, attendees will learn strategies to recognize and regulate emotionally charged situations, navigate challenging relationships, and grow individual and organizational wellbeing through trust, dignity, and connection. If you are interested in improving the way that you and others work together, this is the training for you!
The Business Side of Leadership
6/11, 6/18, 6/25
Great leaders in our field are those who have developed the skills needed to promote healthy workplace culture, sustainable business procedures, and values driven practices. Focusing simultaneously on culture, business, and values is both complex and something that leaders can develop. During the Business Side of Leadership, attendees will build skills and confidence related to their business acumen and how to make better decisions, what leaders can do to support a more productive organization and culture, how to adhere to principles of human rights in ways that promote sustainability, and why good business practices are key in providing or supporting great services in every level of the disability service sector. If you want to enhance the sustainability of your organization or system without compromising your values, this is a great training for you.
The Data Side of Leadership
7/10, 7/17, 7/24
Do you ever feel like, as a leader, you have to have all the answers? We hope not; research actually shows that leaders who rely solely on their own intuition, ideas, and beliefs tend to make less effective and personal-bias-filled decisions. On the other hand, leaders who value and utilize data make more informed and sound choices that benefit their organizations. During The Data Side of Leadership, you will learn how to find, understand, and utilize data and information in ways that help your organization meet its mission, make better strategic decisions, and adopt an evidence-based approach. If you want to become more comfortable and nimble with data or want to help others in your organization become more data-driven, this is the training for you!
The Relational Side of Leadership
8/14, 8/21, 8/28
In the day to day of our work, it can get lonely. Many field leaders yearn for connection, and this will be even more true as we face potential drastic changes in our sector. This session is a great opportunity to engage and collaborate with others and to gain skills and strategies that can help us stay connected in the future. Participants will explore skills to connect and bring people together and to build their own connections, networks, and leverage leadership opportunities in their organizations and systems. Part of this will be exploring and defining a personal brand which can impact and influence our ability to connect with others. Leaders will leave the session with new connections and actionable steps to enhance connections in their role and within their organization. If you are interested in building your networks and your personal brand, this session will give you tools and strategies to do so!
