Details for Applicants and Participants

Applications are due by July 13, 2022 for the August 21-26, 2022 Institute. The fee for the training is $1500 USD (Early Bird Rate, applications received prior to or on June 15th); $1800 USD (Regular Rate, applications received after June 15th and before or on July 13th). We will send an invoice after you are accepted. This includes some meals and all supplies

Institute Highlights:

The class is limited to a select group of emerging leaders offering opportunity for collaboration and an enduring network of support. Approximately 37 people will be accepted.

A fair amount of preparation work is required. Participants will be asked to read several books, to submit a personal leadership challenge, and to take a 360 degree assessment of leadership skills prior to the Leadership Institute.

The Institute will be held at Eitas, a disability services & support organization in Kansas City, Missouri. Travel and hotel accommodations are at the expense of the participant. There will be a group block held at nearby hotel for a competitive rate plus taxes and fees. That information will be added here once finalized.

The Midwest Leadership Institute will begin Sunday, 5/7 at 4:30 pm and will end around noon on Friday, 5/12.

We are monitoring all information related to the Coronavirus and are adapting aspects of the program to protect all attendees. If you have additional questions, please contact Kristen Loomis at kloomis@natleadership.org

By applying for the Institute, you agree to these Terms and Conditions: Once acceptance decisions are made you will be notified, and if you are accepted, we will send you an invoice which is due prior to the Institute. Cancellations will be accepted only until four weeks before the start date of the Institute. Prior to that date, cancellations must be made in writing (e-mail is acceptable, please confirm that we have received) and funds will be returned, minus a $200 processing fee. There will be no refunds after that date and if an intended participant cancels after that date, the full registration fee will still be owed. We regret that we cannot offer refunds for late cancellations, however, if your agency would like to substitute another appropriate individual, this can be done with prior approval. In an emergency situation, an additional option is that attendance can be deferred to a future Institute. Payment is still due in full.

If a government suggested travel restriction or travel ban is implemented that would prevent you from attending the Institute, you are able to defer your attendance to a future Midwest Leadership Institute, date and location TBD. Payment will still be due in full.
